I hade babesiosis (and Lyme) a few years ago. Apparently the human body often just clears it without incident, which thank goodness is what happened to me. However, because of that infection I am never allowed to donate blood again. I was a regular donor and of course they always need blood. The repercussions of these tick borne illnesses are widespread.
