Numlock Sunday: Frank Pallotta on how 2020 will transform the movie business
By Walt Hickey
Welcome to the Numlock Sunday edition. Each week, I'll sit down with an author or a writer behind one of the stories covered in a previous weekday edition for a casual conversation about what they wrote.
This week, I spoke to Frank Pallotta, a CNN writer who covers the media and entertainment business and is a regular appearance in the weekday editions of Numlock. This was a huge week in the media business, with longtime CEO of Disney Bob Iger stepping down, plus with fears about coronavirus roiling, the whole industry — like so many others — is trying to figure out what to do.
And despite the immediate news, 2020 is poised to be a fairly transformational year regardless, with new streaming services emerging, the balance of power between the studios shifting, and more. Frank’s following all of these things closely, and I like talking to him about this stuff.
Frank can be found at CNN, on CNN Business, and on Twitter.
