By Walt Hickey Farming The amount of farm income in the United States rose from $76 billion in 2017 to $103 billion in 2020, but it’s not like the production of crops are getting any better: much to the contrary, it’s the federal subsidies that have exploded, from $12 billion in direct government payments in 2017 to $37 billion in 2020
Farming income: Just the blob buying votes. 90% of the additional discretionary aid went to red states. Such a coincidence, right? Also, how is the president, no matter who she is, able to willy nilly sent billions to cover up his massively incompetent trade war? And isn't it time for Congress to put a padlock on the president's ability to create emergency tariffs?
