I’ve been looking at the language apps -- does anyone have recommendations? But I should also know which language i want to pursue....kinda interested in Portuguese. (Could sorta converse in German after living there for years, taking three years in high school.)
Another complication is that I’m nearly blind, so seeing and learning the glyphs is tough.
I know Duolingo is (as i wrote) very gamefied if that's what you like and you're mostly angling for familiarity, but Babble is supposed to be rather good if you're serious about it.
Geez. I'm really bad at the gameified learning methods. While I did take high school German, I'd picked up quite a bit trying to pick up German girls in the bar when I was a teenager.
Learning the glyphs, too, would give me an excuse to learn new ALT keyboard codes so I can type in the foreign language. About all I get to use most of the time is §.
